It's been almost a year now since I left Dofus after Kolo got stale [which was the only reason that kept me playing] that I'm not even sure if ISK would be enough to make me come back.

The more time away from the game I get, the less shiny it becomes for me. [but that's only because PvM never really held any attraction for players like me]

please ankama.. i hope these new dung doesn't require us to have specific class to win. more importantly, allow player to group together instead of multiaccounting to win. also.. i hope these new bos autokill bombs everytime it start it turns so that people no longer abuse bombs.. im having big trouble with protozoror with 5 different player in a team. i hope these dung wont let me suffer that again

They can always create new dofusses if they need to. I think it's time for a new one :D

My guess is also ebony dofus, ivory should be at pandala indeed (maybe when there's new content there???),

Something has to cost money. Either it's decorative innecesary stuff or useful equipment, boosts, etc. Dofus leans very strongly towards the first, and I prefer that over a pay to win model.

i think the entire game community would collectively shit itself if PvM shields became a thing

edit: like especially if they gave other stats that would be utterly ridiculous

if they tied this to ava somehow that'd reeeeeally spark pvp up in a lot of the servers

Who knows, maybe they managed to built it by now.

Afaik Lichen mention in some interview 1-2 years ago they want to revamp shields in a way to make them actually useful (like, block attacks with the shields or something like that) but the mechanic needs a lot of time to be implemented.

Who knows, maybe they managed to built it by now.

you're getting me hyped for pvm shields now man and i don't think i can handle the severe disappointment when they instead release a "squid dofus" that takes 30 quests to get and gives you exactly 1 summon

It's like reverse crit. I hate that it adds a whole new layer of random.

I always figured they would add that in the form of % critical resistance. Like if you had 10% crit res than your opponent's crit attacks would be reduced by 10%, etc. Dofus has been shying away from chance based stuff like that for a while now, so I don't think they'd add in Block. Though I am curious how they would try to implement PvM shields if that's what Lichen meant by what he said all that time ago ... :0

If I were to implement PvM shields, I'd give players a command in the spell bar to use them, like with weapons. If you use your weapon, you can't use a shield in that same turn and viceversa. And then the concept could be expanded into dual wielding one-handed weapons, two-handed shields and dual wielding shields. Effects could be linear and % resists, critical resistance, pushback resistance, reflects, shield points, AP/MP loss resistance, damage received minimized (reverse brokle), final damage taken reduced...

Anyway, we'll probably +1 summons trophy/dofus.

I really don't know how I feel about people being able to "cast" shields during fights. Feels like you're just giving them Feca spells. I do like the idea of dual handed shields (which I assume would give a much higher bonus than their one handed counterparts), but dual-wielding one-handed weapons just seems silly. Weapons were broken enough before, I don't wanna see the ridiculousness of someone wearing two Catseye Axes at once. xD

A cool example of a two-handed shield could be:

Mucous Membrane

Level 154

+20~25 Lock

+20~30 Pushback Resistance

+10~12% Water Resistance
+10~12% Air Resistance

Or something similar. xD

David, like I said, there was an interview with Lichen 1-2 years ago (cba to search for it). People asked him when they'd revamp shields and/or remove the two-hand condition on weapons. Lichen answered that they were planning on changing shields dramatically and make a new system for them that will make shields useful outside of pvp, especially with wings/honor system being removed in the future.

What that system is isn't know, this is all speculation.

I could see shields being a cast thing that blocks things, but nothing major (like 3-4ap to block 10% incoming dmg for the turn) but I can see potential from it, that's for sure. And it can be done without hurting fecas, as they'd likely gain more benefit from them anyways. not that i'm sure that's a good thing for not.

I'm officially interested. However, there's several possible directions, so we'll have to wait and see. I'm oddly excited for a dungeon that will be hard, but not tear-your-hair-out hard
