Howdy Imps,

As many of you are aware, I've been taking an extended leave from my Admin duties here at Imps. The reasons for this include changing interests, an increased focus on real-life work, and many time constraints. I apologize for my absence from the community.

Recently I was approached by Ankama Games about the possibility of them purchasing Imps Village. This was a very obvious solution to all the problems I was having. Ankama Games' purchase of the site would allow me to leave it in good hands, while getting out from under the monthly bills. Naturally, I agreed, and I truly hope their vision for Imps Village allows this place to improve and flourish.

I'll be staying on in an admin capacity just long enough to become acquainted with their new staff and get them used to the systems here. They have some very exciting upgrades in mind, so it shouldn't be long until you start seeing new graphics and forum-hosted events! I'm very pleased with their plans and hope you like them as much as I do.

Following this post will be a statement from Ankama Games. As for my part, I'd like to thank everyone for a truly fantastic two and a half years. I couldn't have asked for a better time here

Hello users of Imps Village.

We are glad to have ownership of this forum. It should allow us to make Ankama® Games even more enjoyable for the users, because we can now integrate the game with this community. We would like to gives thanks to Kyek for this opportunity, and wish him future luck.

To show the change we are changing the name of the site to Ankama® Village. The current moderator and admin staff will be selected through and we will keep some in addition to having our own staff in the future. We are also planning to make the following changes to the site to make better this transition:

- All items are now to be vend in the in-game shops, and users who vendor on the forum will be banned from the forum because the possibility to mislead other players is great. The merchant forums will be deleted once we are able to use the controls.

- Users who speak negatively about Ankama® or Ankama® staff will be banned or suspended so that other users are not subject to a negative experience. This includes speech of "French math" which is offensive to some.

- All events will be run by Ankama® Village staff. Members are prohibited from running their own events if they are not approved.

- "War Room" forums will be removed to encourage use of in-game alignment chat for activities of alignment.

- We soon will open the Ankama® Village store where you can purchase forum avatar. All current forum avatar will be deleted to make free of possible offensive images.

- In order to make Ankama® Village more accessible to all users we will be pursuing display of other languages.

- There is a pdf document with more detailed description of rules of Ankama® Village: 'télécharger | download'

- Ankama® Games would like to welcome the official Dofus modos as moderateurs of Ankama® Village

Well i guess it had to happen at some point.. the fact that we used these forums more than the official ones meant they had to take over and.. well.. keep us in a tight leash.. lets hope there won't be too many victims to this new set of rules..

The changes are really nice, its nice to see how involved "you guys" are to try to make our favorite forums better. However, this might not be what everybody asked for. I can tell some people are going to be upset to wake up at 4:01 am in the morning to see the war rooms taken down. I hope everybody has a nice day! I hope some of the mods will get a nice break from the forums too with the new hiring

A step I didn`t see coming...well...since you, Kyek, been so busy in rl life recently, it might be the best solution to keep this forum in a
proper way by leading the ownership to someone else.
Right now, I just hope they will be able to keep this place`s special charme and
I hope not much will change for us using IV.
Like many other gaming communities it`s a big twist if they turn "official".
...
For around 2 years now I`v been a member of this community and I love it.
Of course, some arguments appear from time to time and
of course you can`t love everyone, but it was great the way it is/was. I really, really hope it won`t change that much now, with it`s new owner.
Let`s keep Kyek in memory as a great admin. I know, I know, he will still be here, but still..changes..
So..best of luck to the new ImpsVillage by Ankama.
