You’ve been waiting several weeks now, and it’s finally here: the DOFUS CUP is gonna spice up your evenings from March 11th until April 2nd!

Are you ready to experience a Dantesque month of March? From March 11th until April 2nd, 2017 winning the DOFUS Cup will become the sole objective of hundreds of warriors; with the clatter of sword on steel, the roaring of the crowd and dizzying fights, don’t expect any peace and quiet in the World of Twelve!

A maximum of 1,500 teams comprised of 3 players per team will battle it out for 1 month to find the ultimate champions who will take home a cash jackpot of €3,000! Who will emerge victorious in the competition? Who are the three players who will go down in history and take home the DOFUS CUP? Could it be you?

How to take part:

To register for the tournament, you will need a team that includes 3 different players, including one character of level 150 or higher. But be careful, the composition of your team must respect the following criteria:

  • It cannot contain more than one class from the list below:
    • Osamodas
    • Sacrier
    • Xelor
    • Eniripsa
    • Feca

  • The following class pairings are forbidden:
    • Sadida/Osamodas
    • Masqueraider/Osamodas
    • Masqueraider/Xelor
    • Masqueraider/Sacrier
    • Ecaflip/Feca
    • Enutrof/Xelor
    • Enutrof/Sacrier
    • Enutrof/Eliotrope
    • Enutrof/Osamodas

  • Playing an Ouginak during the tournament will be forbidden.

Your level and your character’s equipment at registration are not definite: the tournament will be held on a special server where all characters will start on an equal footing with the same advantages:

  • Level 200
  • All level 6 spells
  • Basic characteristics of 100 in addition to 995 characteristic points to be assigned as you choose.
  • A bank containing nearly all of the equipment available above level 160.

So please register, even if you’re not an expert: you have the same chance of winning as everyone else!

Important Note

  • If you want to change the class of a character that is participating in the tournament, you have until 11:59 PM (Paris time) on Sunday, February 26, 2017. Registered characters who change their class after this date will be disqualified from the tournament.
  • Registered characters are also prohibited from transfering servers on Tuesday, March 7th, 2017 upon pain of disqualification.

Dates to remember

  • Thursday, March 2: registration opens
  • Tuesday, March 7: registration closes
  • From March 11 to 26: qualification stages
    • Saturday, March 11: rounds 1, 2 and 3
    • Sunday, March 12: rounds 3, 4 and 5
    • Saturday, March 18: rounds 7, 8 and 9
    • Sunday, March 19: rounds 10, 11 and 12
    • Saturday, March 25: rounds 13, 14 and 15
    • Sunday, March 26: rounds 16, 17 and 18
  • From March 27 to April 2: final stages
    • Monday, March 27: the sweet sixteen
    • Tuesday, March 28: the elite eight
    • Wednesday, March 29: the quarter-finals
    • Thursday and Friday March 30 and 31: the semi-finals
    • Sunday, April 2: the final

The tournament format

The qualification stages will be played based on the Swiss system: this is a system we’ve been using for many years now and has already proven its worth.

The final stages will be played in competitions of two match wins (B03*), except for the final, which will be played as a 3 match win (B05*). That’s right, to win first place in a tournament you have to work hard!

*BO3: In this format, a team must win two matches to be declared the winner. The results of a BO3 could be 2-0 or 2-1.
*BO5: In this format, a team must win three matches to be declared the winner. The results of a BO5 could be 3-0, 3-1 or 3-2.

During the final stages, the team composition restrictions will no longer apply. Each team can change its composition before each match in a draft stage. This stage will proceed according to the following schema:

  • A forbids a class
  • B forbids a class
  • A chooses a class
  • B chooses a class
  • B forbids a class
  • A forbids a class
  • B chooses a class
  • A chooses a class
  • A forbids a class
  • B forbids a class
  • A chooses a class
  • B chooses a class

When a class is forbidden, none of the two teams can choose it or forbid it again. When a class is chosen by the two teams, the other can no longer forbid it or choose it again.

The map where the combat will take place will be known prior to the draft stage, so it is possible to plan your team composition to suit the location and your attack strategy.

The full tournament rules will be provided before registration opens. Until then, tell all your friends and start preparing your teams!
Think you’re the best PvP players right now? Come and prove it by winning the DOFUS Cup!

In the forum it says:

  • "A bank containing nearly all of the equipment available above level 160."

Are they going to have all stats maxed? Will there be a magus ws?????? Will we have the choice to have them exoed?? Will we be able to take our own gear??

They will probably be all maxed, you won't be able to mage anything, so no exos and you won't have your own Equipment.

So how will we get 12/6???

99.99% sure it said in addition to your equipment, so you'll keep own items + have bank full of items

From reading forums, I gathered that Dreg helms will be allowed, they are still planing on what to do with class items, and all chars will have auto 1ap/mp/range added

Perhaps they will have some kind of curse/candy thing that gives 1 Range/MP/AP

Whoops I posted without refreshing and apparently someone already answered that lol

Yep :p, it's a skill-based only PvP tournament for everyone rather than a tournament only for the elitest of the elite

This is the same as for the 1001 griffes tournament which was the best pvp tournament that's happened for years. It makes far more sense to do it like that as putting all chars on an equal footing gear wise helps to balance the fights out and also could potentially lead to some more unusual set combos

But people invest time and effort obtaining latest gears, mages etc.

Whole point is the competitions were elitist. You really think anyone who is lvl160 with shit gear on real server is going miraculously win the tournament? It isn't like an equal chance of winning.

Why shouldn't the guy spending 100 hours on awesome mages not maintain the advantage over some guy who logs for 5mins a day and zaap sits at astrub zaap in his gobball set begging for kama?

Being elitest of elite isn't just have an abundance of kama (which would come from good pvm skills, or kama making skills [requires a brain and an iq preferably over 100.]) Besides, you have some people who are elite af, but low levels (but also a choice) like that jazmyn guy that rapes at lvl171.

All in all. Should be a fun tourney, but if teams aren't selected based upon skill and shit then 90% are going to be shit fights.

It's good that they give everyone the same items and chances for win. I know that people who do awesome mages might be pissed about this, but not every player can get load of items for tournament. Probably skill will matter here, we will see after this. Isn't it just a game and we all should have fun? It's just my opinion and good luck to everyone who will take a part in this tournament.

If you think everyone has the same chance to win, you are very mistaken.

No ones brain is equal.

Yes, but at least gear. You can show that you are much better player and no one will talk shit about not fair fight, because of gear :)

I like the idea of everyone having equal gear.  Not having to equip X ring because it's your AP mage opens up a lot of possibilities for people.   I wonder, if you have gear that has AP < 12 on, can you still use whatever bonus they're giving?  That would allow combinations not usually possible...

What I meant was that this way it's not only the guys with the best possible gear that can compete, like it was in goult. And of course the zaapsitters and beggers don't have a chance compared to the active players, but at least they can still try this way rather than being effectively locked out from the start.

I do hope the second tournament later in the year is different so that what you described is true, but at the same time I think it's very good to have one of the tournaments like this.

I disagree with the fact that they claim everyone has an equal chance.

There are many servers with a low population, these servers have less PvP activaty resulting in casual PvP.

On the other hand, active servers with a lot of PvP activity have far more practise and elite PvP.

Al top goul teams have practised a lot with their team combination, as of this day they still know every possible team combination, attack paterns and different tactics. Also they know exactly how to build their characters with the correct gear to counter their opponents.

Now they give people whom haven't seen true PvP in years a time limit of 3 weeks to basicly learn all tactics, team combinations, counters ect..., which for people with a job/family/other hobbies is fairly impossible.

Now at this point I know some people are triggered already and disagree with my opinion, and thats fine.

I have nothing against the tournament itself, I just want to point out that it isn't as equal as claimed.

I do wish all participants of the international community the best of luck!
