Something about how gift points aren't really necessary, and will be removed. Gifts will be given with your subscription just like ordinary payments. The gift space will be left open for a while for you to use up your gift points in.

Gift Points were introduced to support Ogrines when fired. Today, Ogrines entered the habits of our players (subscription services, Kama Exchange ...) and have gained enough maturity to adopt the same function as the means of payment.

We will publish next week an article on our Devblog to explain all this in detail!

From that what i understand:

You can't stack points with "lowtime subs" anymore to get "high subtime items".
I.e. :to get Stings and Dragoons you have to sub for a long period of time.

But the point is, will you get those gifts with ogrines, or only with regular subscription? Because it sounds like there wiill no longer be any gifts with ogrines.

You should only get qualifying sub gifts when you buy with $ imo. Plus it would be ridiculously expensive kamawise to get one of the year pets via trading kamas for ogrines.

does it not just mean that you will no longer get points for ogrines, e.g 13000 will = around....
well 13000 is 18 weeks of sub so i have no idea if they will give you a 3 months pet for the price of nearly 5 momths months sub or if they will remove such options....

that said a 42000 sub is like 60ish weeks so whatwill they do there? give you a pink dragoon and 2 gobtubbys?!

i cant see why they would remove this system, i really cant....

You will get gifts when you use ogrines to subscribe, the same way as when you use money to subscribe. You will no longer get gift points when buying ogrines.
Currently, you get no gifts when you use ogrines to subscribe, but you get gift points when buying ogrines.

I'm predicting that Ogrines might get more expensive to buy from other players, Kama-wise now... I mean, before, someone who bought 47000 Ogrines would not only get to sell them for ~12mk, but also get like 50% more by buying a couple of expensive gifts. Now they're not going to be able to get that gift, so essentially the amount of Kamas they get per Ogrine will decrease.

This is a terrible idea IMO; people who buy Ogrines are paying real money for them, so they should get some extra reward, as opposed to the rich, already-established players who can afford to sub their full teams for months at a time.

So basically, this is retarded. I thought the whole point of gift points was to give people who can't buy massive amounts of ogrines (all at once) a chance to buy their small amount of ogrines and eventually save up points to get bigger gifts. Now no one'll get anything good unless they spend all the ogrines on a single character.

The other stupid thing is... You have to waste all your subtime at once! If you buy 47k ogrines and then only spend 1 week of them at a time, you won't get a dragoone that way. They're basically just trying to strip out ogrines and make people need them more as they'll be wasting more sub time if they want a good gift.

Well, Izmar clarified it in the official topic. The subscription gift is given for subbing with the Ogrines, no matter if you bought them for cash or for kamas.

I think the part in which the subscriber gets the gift and not the kama buyer is a nice step.
But as I said in the OF topic, in the future it would be nice if all forms of subscription got a way to save up their "loyalty points" in some form. The majority of bonus programs works in such a way, you get points depending on how much you spend and you collect said points for what you want from their selection of gifts.
I'm not advocating to keep GP in the current form, but a similar system that's actually tied to every time you sub an account would be superb.

Yep, its just a great system, subbing gives you points you can save to spend on something later, why do they have to change it COMPLETELY?

I think the overall goal is to promote longer subscriptions. Rather then having people subscribing just when they feel like playing. Going on vacation for 2 weeks? no worries I just won't sub my 8 chas for those 2 weeks. That equals about 25$ us to ankama. If im subbed a year in advance I can't sub on a whim.
