I got no$gba, and heart gold, I get to the part where I just finished making my guy, and before game actually begins, its a black screen, but music still plays, also the startup is glitched by having part of the ho-oh black(bottom screen only)

HG/SS have a bunch of anti-piracy measures, but there are some pretty easy workarounds.

First off, try enabling either of these as cheat codes, and reloading the ROM:

If that still doesn't work, google something along the lines of "No$GBA HeartGold Fix" until you find a solution that works for you (I hear using No$Zoomer will help to run the game.)

As for my run, it's going to be on hold for a few weeks. A hard drive corruption has sent my PC in to repairs. I've got an older save backed up, it's just a matter of attempting to recreate my progress as best I can now.
